Paper & Tea Playdate with Laura Blythman

Creativity is a strange thing. For years I never felt creative, not the traditional sense anyway. I can’t draw, paint, sculpt in a way that reveals any talent but it doesn’t stop me from pursuing creative outlets in my adult life – often with hilarious results.  When I was younger we’d spend rainy days crafting away, the kitchen table would be covered in newspaper, my sisters and I could be covered in finger paint, crayons would be everywhere and we were in complete craft heaven.

Needless to say, I can’t even remember the last time I did something like that (with no purpose or school project deadline looming) so when Kylie from Of Kin mentioned teaming up for a Paper & Tea playdate – an adult crafternoon – I thought it was brilliant.  We were thrilled that Laura Blythman also agreed to come play and teach us some of her paper skills and paper feather pendant hangings.  So for one sunny afternoon in Melbourne I hung out with some really cool people, ate homemade cookies and painted and played with paper to my heart’s content. My 10-year old self would have been proud.
