let the sun shine...

After a few exhausting days in Brisbane I was ready to relax and enjoy the Sydney sunshine. The weather didn't disappoint. Despite being a beautiful day, I couldn't muster the energy to do much on Saturday beside take a brief walk (to get snacks) and then curl up in bed and watch movies - it was blissful.  I watched Country Strong starring Gwyneth Paltrow and suddenly found myself nostalgic for the road trip we took to Nashville a few years back. Say what you will about country music, but to me it reminds me of Nashville, filled with dark bars packed with fun people, strong drinks and overflowing with musical talent. I had an urge to pick up a guitar and start crooning away, luckily for those around me I snapped back to reality.

Sunday I was a bit more ambitious and actually did a few things around the house before grabbing some books and heading down to the beach.  Hard to believe this is winter.  Later on we met some friends for dinner in Manly before wrapping up the weekend happy, rested and content.
