Although we had an early Thanksgiving celebration a few weeks
back, I still had to celebrate just one more time on the actual day with
a mini roast dinner. I feel full of gratitude for so many things in my
life, it only made sense to look at this holiday as a chance to fully
realize how lucky I am for my family and friends. I started the day
off by talking to my family back home as they sat around the dinner
table, introduced my co-workers to the joys of pumpkin pie, drank wine
as dinner came together and convinced J and his parents to let me listen
to Christmas carols while we ate dinner. Mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry
sauce and Bing Crosby -what more could a girl ask for?
The rest of the weekend was equally as
peaceful and productive: a sleep in while the rain poured, sewing xmas
presents as the sun came out, phone calls to Boston, an afternoon nap, a
long run and finally meeting up with friends for a night out in Manly.
Sunday saw a bit of xmas shopping, swimming, surfing, blogging, laundry, another
run by the beach, food shopping and finally sitting in front of the TV
while I knit and watch Escape To the Country - thankful indeed.
